Holland, Michigan (June 5, 2012) – Uniform Color Company (UCC) will introduce CT (TM) EcoBrites Color Series at HBA Global Expo in New York this coming June. The CT EcoBrites Color Series is a recently developed fluorescent color series for polypropylene (PP) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) thermoplastics applications.

The CT EcoBrites Color Series is on trend today with the resurgence in popularity of beach-like fluorescent colors and color blocking, making the HBA show the perfect place to introduce them. says Tracy Phillips, Market Development and Color Trend Analyst at Uniform Color.

The Ecobrite Fluorescent formulations are based on newer FDA fluorescent pigment technology. CT EcoBrites Fluorescent Colors are developed to be FDA Compliant for Conditions of use E, F, and G in HDPE and PP applications. In addition, yellow EcoBrites colors can be formulated to be halogen free, which is becoming important to some manufacturers who want to avoid the use of halogenated materials. One exception to halogen-free statement is the Fluorescent Green. This color is still FDA, but it does contain chlorine, a halogen.

Until recently, fluorescent colors like these were not FDA compliant in many applications says Sharon Ehr, Color Technology Manager at UCC. By using the latest FDA pigment technology and our color formulating expertise, we can create a spectrum of fluorescent colors that are able to meet most FDA conditions of use in PP and HDPE applications.
