New York, NY (June 19, 2012) – Uniform Color's CT™ Ecobrites received its first award for New Product Excellence at the 2012 HBA Global Expo Awards Ceremony in New York City on June 19th.

The CT(TM) EcoBrites Color Series was 1 of 4 new products to receive this award out of more than 108 entries in the HBA Product Innovation Showcase. Tracy Phillips accepted the award on behalf of Uniform Color.

The CT EcoBrites Color Series is a recently developed fluorescent color series for polypropylene (PP) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) thermoplastics applications. Until recently, fluorescent colors like these were not FDA compliant in many applications. The Ecobrite Fluorescent formulations are based on newer FDA fluorescent pigment technology. CT EcoBrites Fluorescent Colors are developed to be FDA Compliant for Conditions of use E, F, and G in HDPE and PP applications. In addition, the yellow EcoBrites colors can be formulated to be halogen free, which is becoming important to some manufacturers who want to avoid the use of halogenated materials. One exception to halogen-free statement is the Fluorescent Green color is still FDA, but it does contain chlorine, a halogen.
